Black History facts occur every day. In February we set aside a time to recall well-known history facts, but a lot of things slip through the cracks. Our goal is to capture Black History fact everyday, and record them for prosperity. Some will be funny, and I can imagine made up, but other will be factual, compelling and inspirational. Many people of all races accomplish amazing thing on a daily basis and those things deserve to be recorded and shared with the world.
Dr. Cater G. Woodson is credited with creating the beginning of documenting and recognizing Black History, we proudly dedicate this site to Dr. Woodson and those like him that realize the need and worthiness of the study of Black people in America and the World.
“Dr. Woodson devoted the rest of his life to historical research. He worked to preserve the history of African Americans and accumulated a collection of thousands of artifacts and publications. He noted that African American contributions “were overlooked, ignored, and even suppressed by the writers of history textbooks and the teachers who use them.” Race prejudice, he concluded, “is merely the logical result of tradition, the inevitable outcome of thorough instruction to the effect that the Negro has never contributed anything to the progress of mankind.”
